Dr. Benjamin Tharp, a native Houstonian, graduated with honors from the college of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A.M. University in 1978. After working for one year a mixed animal practice in Marshall, Dr. Tharp returned to Houston and began practicing at Voss Road Animal Clinic in 1979. He has served as president of the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association and is currently serving as a deacon at his home church of Katy Bible Church.

Dr. Tharp is married and has 3 children and lives with many animals including, 3 cats, 2 dogs, 2 hedgehogs, 3 horses, and one cow. Professionally, Dr. Tharp has an interest in surgery especially orthopedic and gastroenterology.
